The United States Air Force Academy Athletics Department seeks highly qualified
applicants for the position of Head Coach, Women’s Basketball.  This is a full-time
position, and reports jointly to the Director of Athletics, CEO of the Air Force Academy
Athletic Corporation.
The Head Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for leading, instructing and
providing coaching expertise to Division I competitive athletes for the Women's
Basketball Program. Promote Academic excellence and Character Development to
future Air Force Officers while Competing for Championships in the Mountain West
Conference. Assess and recruit high end academic and athletic candidates for entry into
one of the most prestigious institutions in the country. Position will also perform duties
as Head Coach to include but not limited to travel logistics, maintaining
supplies/equipment, oversight of student athlete performance in and out of the athletic
area. Will manage and instruct competitive athletic program, perform assigned
departmental duties, promote professional activities in area of athletic specialization.
Successful candidates will be those that have extensive knowledge of NCAA Division I
guidelines for eligibility/recruiting, demonstrated experience and success in coaching
Collegiate Women's Basketball. Essential qualities expected of every staff member
include the personal attributes of integrity, cooperation, initiative, and organizational
management. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduates
and a track record of demonstrated excellence in developing character and leadership
qualities on and off the court.

REQUIREMENTS:
 Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred in related field.
 Strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as written and oral
communication skills.

 A thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
 5+ years coaching experience at the intercollegiate level. Head coach experience
at the intercollegiate level is desired.
 A dedication to the success of student-athletes in their academic and athletic
endeavors, and a commitment to integrity, general equity, and diversity.
 Ability to supervise, direct, and manage the women’s basketball program.
 Ability to work non-traditional schedules, including nights and weekends.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities. The Employee will accomplish
the duties and responsibilities as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach as agreed
upon with the AFAAC CEO and AD. The Employee will fully support the mission and
objectives of the Air Force Academy, Department of Athletics
and the AFAAC. The Employee will help direct and be responsible for the
operation of the U.S. Air Force Academy Intercollegiate Women’s
Basketball Program, to include, but not be limited to, the following:
 Directing all activities of the varsity Women’s Basketball team and staff.
 Coaching and providing individual instruction to all members of the varsity
Women’s Basketball team.
 Recruiting the best available cadet candidates through all NCAA permissible
means.
 Serving on national committees if the opportunity arises.
 Direct the acquisition of all Women’s Basketball equipment, supplies, and
uniforms with the equipment manager.
 Assisting with preparing and organizing the varsity Basketball team's schedules.
 Organizing and being present at all related varsity practices and contests.
 Ensuring that cadets represent the Academy in a dignified manner both in
actions and dress.
 Attending Athletic Department coaches’ meetings, as necessary. Attending the
annual Coaches Convention, if so directed.
 Assisting with organizing and administering AFAAC sponsored sports camps and
clinics for Women’s Basketball.
 Establishing and maintaining an appropriate relationship with the Prep School
Athletic Department.
 Establishing and maintaining appropriate compliance culture within the Women’s
Basketball program, to include team members and staff, and ensuring adherence
to NCAA, conference and institutional regulations.
 Taking an active leadership role in fundraising for the Falcon Athletic Fund for
Women's Basketball.
USAFA, located just north of Colorado Springs, Colorado, is an undergraduate
institution that awards the Bachelor of Science degree as part of its mission to educate,
train, and inspire men and women to become officers of character, motivated to lead in
the United States Air Force and in service to our nation.  Applications are invited from
