Position

SVP of Finance / Controller
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Location: Raymond, Ohio (on‑site at least four days per week)
Compensation: $150,000–$170,000 base salary plus stock appreciation rights (SAR’s) and competitive benefits package

Role Description

Outward Farms seeks a strategic, hands-on SVP of Finance/Controller to partner closely with the CEO in guiding growth, strengthening financial operations, and scaling the business while preserving the farm’s mission and values. This leader will anticipate evolving needs, design scalable financial systems, own internal controls, manage banking relationships, and ensure operational integrity in a transparent, values-driven setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO, driving financial insights, modeling, and scalability strategies
  • Lead all financial and accounting functions, including reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and controls
  • Establish and improve internal control processes, systems, and efficiencies
  • Manage banking and capital relationships aligned with growth plans
  • Ensure risk management, regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and transparent stakeholder reporting

Qualifications

  • CPA certification required
  • Experience in agriculture or food-production finance, ideally with operational knowledge of farm-based enterprises
  • Strategic and innovative thinker with a growth mindset
  • Proven ability to lead financial process improvements and system optimizations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated success managing banking and financing relationships
  • Based in Ohio, willing to be on-site at least four days per week
