A. POSITION PURPOSE
The Head Women’s Basketball Coach will report directly to the Athletics Director or Designee. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach will be a positive, energetic leader with the ability to reach, motivate and recruit student-athletes. The Head Coach is responsible for coordinating all aspects of a NCAA Division I women’s basketball program including, but not limited to, managing day-to-day operations; recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes; practice and game day preparation and coaching; budget management; hiring and supervising assistant coaches; assisting with fundraising and adherence to NCAA, Mountain West Conference and University/CSU rules; and developing positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, media, alumni and donors while interacting successfully with department personnel and the University community.

The incumbent is considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
Percentages are used to classify the position. Actual amount of time spent on each Essential Function may vary based on department cycles and priorities. Other duties may be assigned by the Appropriate Administrator.

- Knowledge and understanding of the collegiate model of intercollegiate athletics
- Knowledge of an proficiency in University, NCAA and Mountain West Conference rules and regulations

- Experience in organizing and motivating student athletes for maximum performance levels
